Reading Program

The reading program is one way the Bartlesville Daybreak Rotary Club serves its community.Every Friday morning during the school year, volunteers from Daybreak Rotary visit Jane Phillips School for about 45 minutes and listen to students reading. These students have been identified as those whose parents won't or can't read with them at home.

In addition to reading with the students, Daybreak Rotary members have build a book cart for the students, provided books, and devised a coding system for various reading levels.

In the eight years since we began this program, Jane Phillips Elementary has seen reading levels soar over national levels.

Rotarian Mike Bass is leading this attack on local literacy issues. Join us for a few minutes which will make a lifetime of difference.
