Scholarships

Daybreak Rotary Club awards at least one area high school senior a four-year University  $5,000 scholarship payable $625 per semester and, beginning in 2021, awards at least one $1,000 vocational-technical scholarship.  The exact number of scholarships awarded may vary from year to year.

The selection committee of Daybreak Rotary awards the scholarship on several criteria. Each criterion is equally weighted in the selection process. The criteria are academic, need, activities, personal and work.

The selected students recieving University scholarships are expected to maintain a 3.0-grade point overall and enroll in at least 12 hours per semester. The students’ enrollment is expected to be continuous, excluding summer semesters. The recipients must send a copy of their grades to Daybreak Rotary no later than January 15 or June 15 of each semester to continue to receive their award.

Students interested in applying for either scholarship, please send the typed application with an official High School Transcript and two letters of recommendation to Daybreak Rotary by the last Friday in March to Bartlesville Daybreak Rotary c/o The Scholarship Committee, P.O. Box 211, Bartlesville, OK 74005.

Our B'Ville Sip & Smoke fund raiser raises funds to ensure the successful funding of our Vocational-Technical scholarships (we have been doing 2 University scholarships every year for multiple years courtesy of Fantasy Land of Lights!).   The date of the Sip & Smoke may move around each year and so may the activities.   But it should be a good time!   We hope people will join us!  It is a good chance to learn about Rotary; our 4-Way Test has a 5th test in this club:  IS IT FUN!?
